Alizabeth is an attending anesthesiologist who practices in Flushing, New York. She graduated from Hunter College in 2001 and from Cornell Weill Medical College in 2005 and went on to complete her residency in anesthesiology in 2009. She accomplished this with her daughter by her side. Having become a mother at 16, she continued to persevere beyond all the stereotypes and negativity, and she has been an attending anesthesiologist for the past 7 years. Her daughter is now 21 and a junior in college. Alizabeth married and also has a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old son, who, along with her fulltime job, keep her life full of excitement! Additionally, Alizabeth, being of Puerto Rican descent, has a passion for mentoring young Latinas. She enjoys mentoring and would eventually love to start up an organization that focuses on increasing the number of Latinas in medicine and an organization dedicated to helping teen moms succeed.
